Officers

Ellen Wiss

Ellen A. Wiss, President

Ellen is a real estate management/marketing professional and community volunteer. She has led several nonprofit efforts in the areas of education and social justice. She currently serves as the Founder/President of Read USA, Inc. She is also Vice President of Finance for the board of The Junior League of Jacksonville, and a member of the Board of Teach For America, Nine in 15 Steering Committee and Jacksonville Chamber Board of Governors Education Committee. Ellen collaborates with other nonprofits working to improve literacy, education and health opportunities for low-income youth and families, women and girls. She is a WGA Legacy Member who has served on the Grants and Steering Committees. She also Co-Chaired the Education Committee before she became President-elect.

Jan Healy

Jan Healy, Vice President

Jan and her husband, Chuck Hyman, live in Atlantic Beach. She is an active community volunteer. Current and previous commitments include: Women’s Giving Alliance Founding Member and Officer; The Bolles School Trustee; Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Board of Directors; Planned Parenthood Board of Directors; Discovery Montessori School Board of Directors; Hubbard House Board of Directors; Take Stock in Children Mentor; Leadership Jacksonville (Class of 1996). Jan worked previously with The Shircliff Group, (Jacksonville, FL) and Andersen Consulting (Miami, FL). She graduated from the University of Florida with a BSBA and an MBA.

Mary Pietan

Mary Pietan, Vice President

Mary is an active community volunteer who serves on the boards of the Garden Club of America, The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, and the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. She is also a Founding Member of the Women's Giving Alliance and is active in the Late Bloomers Garden Club and a long-time member of the Book Club. Formerly, she served on the boards of Episcopal School of Jacksonville and the Baptist Health System Foundation. Mary is a graduate of the University of MN (BA).

Margaret Barton

Margaret Barton, Secretary

Margaret is a Senior Personnel Research Psychologist with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. She leads projects involving the development and validation of assessment solutions for employee selection and promotion purposes. Margaret joined WGA in 2012 and served as Membership Co-Chair before becoming Secretary. She currently serves as a Member of the Corporation for Hurricane Island Outward Bound School and on the board of the International Personnel Assessment Council. Margaret received her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Tulane University and her B.A. from Duke University.

Margaret Gomez

Margaret Gomez, Treasurer

Margaret is the former Chief Financial Officer for Availity, LLC. She has extensive experience in finance, strategic planning and information technology for startup subsidiaries for AT&T American Transtech, AT&T Universal Card Services, Ideon, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. She is a long-term resident of the Jacksonville area and has her CPA and an MBA from the University of North Florida. Margaret joined WGA in 2006, and is on the Finance Committee. She formerly served on the board of Beaches Habitat for Humanity and the Bear Foundation, and currently serves as chairperson of the board of the Jacksonville Symphony.
