Connectors, Committees, Volunteers: Tailor Your Involvement
At WGA, there are as many ways to get involved as there are Members. You can simply be an Investor...or you can be President. It's entirely up to you, with no obligation to do anything, and no guilt – ever.
Welcome, Happy Check Writers
As an organization by, for and about women, we understand the many demands on your time. The most important thing you can do each year is contribute your membership fee and vote for proposed grants. Beyond that, there is no obligation to do more.
“I may have been the original 'Happy Check Writer'. I was a Founding Member of WGA, but was never involved until I retired. The next thing I knew, I was President-elect!”
- Julia Taylor, Past President -

Ways To Get Involved
If you do want to get more involved, there are many opportunities to do so. At WGA, you can always change your level of participation, so you don't have to worry about trying something new.
- Attend an event – Meet new people, get exposed to new issues or bring a guest. We offer many events throughout the year:
- Large semi-annual luncheons in the spring and fall (Member Forum and Annual Meeting)
- Smaller educational events, lectures and panel discussions
- Annual Strictly Social gathering
- Connector events in your neighborhood
- Participate in Connector Groups – Connect with WGA Members in your neighborhood.
- Join a committee – Lend your time and talents to whatever committee interests you most: Advocacy, Communications, Education, Finance, Grants or Membership.
- Volunteer – We're always looking for people to volunteer at our events, read grants, report for our E-News or volunteer "on call". If you're looking for a one-time or short-term commitment, volunteering may be a great fit.
- Advocate – Watch our newsletter and other communications for opportunities to advocate on legislation and policy that affects our agencies and the women and girls that they serve.
- Connect with us – Like or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn to stay up to date with WGA and agency news, women in philanthropy, our community, grantmaking focus area and more.
