Women in Poverty in Northeast Florida
WGA’s commissioned research from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research shows that nearly one in seven of women in Florida are living in poverty. The number is higher in Duval County. Florida ranks 47th across the country. Join us to hear from a panel of local experts on the challenges facing women in poverty and what you can do to help. Our guest panelists include Changing Homelessness President/CEO Dawn Gilman; Northeast Florida Women Veterans President Deloris Quaranta; Jacksonville Legal Aid Intake Director Missy Davenport; and Head of Community Impact, Basic Needs at United Way Jeff Winkler. Our moderator is Kathleen Shaw, Vice President of Programs at The Community Foundation for NEFL.
